The Rapids

On the Westfield River
Oil on Canvas. 12x24 Plein air.
The Rapids  is a rural restaurant and bar situated on the Westfield River, at the intersection of Route 112 and Route 66, in Huntington.  A couple of generations ago it was known as a  "Road House." One can just imagine a summer's day in the 1920's....city folks out for a drive in their new Model T, stopping  for happy hour.

This image is cast a lot bluer than the actual painting.

Garden Gate, Route 66

Oil on canvas board.
12x16. From photo.  The original image of this lovely old colonial house with garden gate was snapped with my iPhone as I drove past.  Today I downloaded the Blogger App for iPhone, and used it to take a photo of the painting; a test to see how uploading directly from iPhone to the Blog worked.
It works, ok, but couldn't figure out how to crop and sharpen the image.

Morse Homestead on RT 66

This is a plein air painting of the Morse Homestead in Westhampton, next door to the Outlook Farm Market. You can see a photo of us  on their Facebook Page:
Outlook Farm Market  . Ok.  I've omitted the lovely red tree.

Holyoke Range
Hadley
Oil on Canvas: 9x12: Quickly, in Plein Air:
I love cows in fields; but by the time it came to paint the cows in this field
they had wandered off  to greener pastures.
