October Beauties: Whatley

Angus...Black or Abredeen? Neither, according to Wikipedia:
Black with white faces are an Angus-Hereford Cross. Oil on linen board, 9x12, Plein Air:
They had recently been brought down to the barn paddock from Summer Pasture,
and they were basking in the warm October sun. The Maple trees have lost the top half of their leaves. The Pines have shed their needles.

Heifers in Summer Pasture
Summer morning-Heifers in a Huntington pasture: Instead of the haze burning off, clouds settled in and brought hours of rain. Our Plein Air group retreated to AK's studio, where this small sketch was completed from memory. I used three colors, Thalo blue, Magenta, Indian Yellow, plus white. Oil on linen, 9x12
