Heifers in Summer Pasture

Summer morning-Heifers in a Huntington pasture:  Instead of the haze burning off,  clouds settled in and brought hours of rain.  Our Plein Air group retreated to AK's studio,  where this small sketch was completed from memory. I used three colors, Thalo blue, Magenta, Indian Yellow, plus white.    Oil on linen, 9x12

Pallet knife Plein air. This was done early November, 2012, when the oak leaves had turned "puce," and the grass ochre.  It currently hangs at the Hosmer Gallery, where it is part of a  Hilltown Plein Air Painters group exhibit.  "Road Trip-Route 66."
